Vector's Guide To Gas

Commercial gas appliances

Gas-fired unit heaters

Gas-fired unit heaters are ideal for heat generation and distribution. They are generally designed for ceiling mounting and can provide a convenient, cost efficient means of comfortably heating factories, warehouses, shopping malls, gyms and other large open areas. These heaters are ideal for supplementing a remote heat source and provide the benefits of lower installation costs, more floor space and greater heat efficiency.

Selection and design

Gas-fired unit heaters blow heated air over a large area and are ideal for open areas where no ductwork exists. They are available in a range of sizes and types to suit the needs of individual applications.

Units with circulating fans are typically used to heat large open areas and are available with optional downturn nozzles to assist in directing the air to the floor. Blower type units are similar to propeller type units except they are equipped with a centrifugal blower and may be used when operating noise is an issue.

Installation/location

Gas-fired unit heaters generally hang from the ceiling and can be mounted as high as 30m. Connections are required to a gas supply, an exhaust flue and an electrical switchboard.
