Radiant heaters
Radiant heaters provide highly efficient spot heating in areas where air currents and draughts can be a problem. Popular for outdoor restaurant dining, commercial radiant heaters are also useful in large spaces, such as museums, galleries and factories, where spot heating rather than blanket heating can be an efficient and effective solution.
Selection and design
A variety of sizes and styles is available, including portable units. A small unit, with 4.4kW output will direct spot heat over a 192 metre area, while a large model with 11.1lkw output will direct heat over a 472 meter area. Controls are either electronic or manual, usually with a pull cord.
Installation/location
Except for portable models, radiant heaters are wall mounted, between 3.0m and 4.5m from the floor. Connection to a gas supply is needed. A power point is needed for units using electronic ignition.
Portable models use an LPG gas cylinder.
