Manifolded storage units
Hot water is provided directly from the source in a dead leg system or from storage tanks so an abundant supply of hot water is assured.
For installations that experience one or two high peaks in the day and minimum draw-off in between, a system can be designed with slow recovery but increased storage capacity so that these peaks can be accommodated. These systems can also be used to increase the storage capacity of an existing installation.
Selection and design

Individual storage units and systems come in a variety of capacities to suit different applications, providing flow rates up to and greater than 2 litres per second. Systems can be pre-set to specified temperatures.
Individual storage units are around 1800mm (height) by 650mm (width) by 850mm (depth) and both internal and external models are available.
The volume of hot water required will dictate how many units will be manifolded. For example, three 275 litre storage units can be manifolded together and can provide a flow rate of up to 6 litres per second and 3000 litres per hour.
Installation/location
Systems can be installed either indoors or outdoors. Each storage cylinder requires an area of approximately 700mm X 1500mm.

Please refer to the specific appliance manufacturer’s specifications, and see Gas connections and Ventilation and flueing for more information about specific clearances.
