Underfloor heating systems

Underfloor heating systems are completely unobtrusive and, being hidden, allow full use of wall and floor space. As there are no exposed elements, fans or hot surfaces, this system provides a very safe heating solution.

Radiant floor heat distributes warmth evenly throughout the room, with heat being absorbed by every object in the room and the room temperature being maintained at a comfortable level. This minimises energy loss at a high level via walls and windows, and the even heat distribution means no hot and cold spots.

The investment in an underfloor heating system should add value to the building.

Heating with water

Warm water is pumped through a system of underfloor heating tubes using water heated by an internal gas boiler or dedicated continuous flow water heaters. Water temperatures are monitored by thermostats and the flow maintained by a circulating pump. The tubes are small and arranged to distribute heat evenly and quickly throughout the floor area. Essentially, the floor becomes like a large radiator emitting heat into the room.

These systems are ideal for areas such as kitchen, dining, bathrooms where tiled or slate floors may be used.

Installation

The system can be laid in new suspended or slab-on-ground concrete floors. Heating modules can also be embedded in screed laid over an existing concrete floor. They are also compatible with most floor coverings.

Systems specifically designed for suspended wooden floors are also available.
